It is impossible to argue against the histrionic rhetoric we see in public figures. They make these overblown ridiculous statements that there is no proof for but because they command all the attention in public speaking, press and TV with all their acolytes supporting them it gives the false impression of consent from the public. It really is a horror show that we are only allowed to observe but not be part of, it is like a runaway train that we cannot stop.
Reference Dr Alasdair Allan's Ministerial Forward, I've never read such a load of claptrap!
It's hypocrisy at the highest level, on one hand to show concern for "the loss of species and degradation of our natural environment" and on the other hand plan to industrialise our beautiful countryside by bulldozing swathes of land to erect monstrous pylons, wind turbines, battery storage facilities etc. etc. Shame on these so called 'leaders' who were never elected by us, and who are ignoring our plea to leave our countryside alone.
I am grateful to live in rural NE Scotland and see first hand in my garden the wild life thriving, which gives me the greatest of pleasure. We have a family of deer who visit, a family of badgers, foxes, hares, water voles, pheasants by the dozen, and we have had kestrels nesting in our trees for the past 4 years (awesome) with a plethora of other birds, too many to name. We are devastated and highly concerned that there is plans to erect monstrous pylons, 2 of which are 1.02 & 1.05 km from the front of our home, not only blighting our amazing view, but the effect it will have on the wildlife and the environment is truly horrifying.
It is my own personal view that Scotland, if not the whole of the UK has been sold off to the highest bidder.
''It is my own personal view that Scotland, if not the whole of the UK has been sold off to the highest bidder.'' - Without a doubt Scotland even moreso than England.
It was lovely to learn that you have so many wild visitors coming to your garden. Here in East Lothian many species are thriving but others are not. Bees, butterflies, and other insects are few and far between. The tree bees that nested in my roof in 2022 and 2023 did not return this year. I remember when cleaning the car windscreen of dead insects was a constant chore in the summer. I haven't had to do that for decades. Very few ants this year. There are usually a few weeks in summer when I have to wear wellies when I'm hanging out the washing as ants are swarming over my feet. That precaution wasn't necessary this year.
I agree that Scotland has been sold off to the highest bidders - without our permission. Starmer's meeting with Blackrock should be a warning to us all that worse is to come. Politicians have always been guilty of ignoring the long term effects of their actions but now they don't even seem able to consider what is going to happen to their own children and grandchildren if they continue to trash the planet. Now that they are targetting farmers people really need to wake up and fight back.
If anyone reads any books on geology (those not written by paid UN "climate scientists"), it is clear that all the alarmists have is the appeal to emotion by showing selective images of animals in distress and saying : "look, look! climate change did that. We need to save them." Ian Plimer's "Green Murder" or Patrick Moore's "Fake Invisible Catastrophes" put everything in perspective, and Moore's book (as a founder of Greenpeace who left after seeing how it was being corrupted by political activists) is a real lesson in how the catastrophists and their corporate backers know how to press the emotional buttons with non-scientific and/or highly manipulated data.
One wonders whether any of these politicians in the Scottish Parliament have ever done any basic reading on the history of the planet, or whether it's irrelevant to them, as with the covid scam. They get to sound important and world-leading. In their heads. I can't wait wait until Trump drops the Cop garbage and net zero :)
Evidence with my own eyes... here in the Seattle area, besides being taken over by retarded, grossly selfish, psychotic politicians and "greenies". is The climate emergency I see is spraying god knows what, in the skies changing the ph in our soil. We have moss growing in and on everything. I don't use yard/garden chemicals, but i have moss growing in the lawn, on the shrubs and trees and its killing or smothering the plantlife. They happily cut whole forrests when they can profit from building, but lecture us peons about deforrestation... The amt of evil for profit these days, is beyond comprehension. Thx for the data in this article. Nice to see and hear better info than the global terror mongers dish up on the daily. The Weather Channel has become The global climate terrorist channel.

Corporatism first, people last is the agenda.

Do they have a single policy that isn't based on a complete, whopping lie?

Great stuff we go from 'COVID' to climate, same tactics, same pseudo science and phoney consensus promoted.

I need another booster🍻👍
This emergency is real. I’ve worried for years which strategies might be used to help tho ..
The lack of common sense emergency is real.
and why so little concern about pharma entering the ecology ? These things that go into us go into the water too. Why is pharma invisible ? https://www.newsmax.com/us/fentanyl-bottlenose-dolphins/2024/12/05/id/1190572/
Good point.
